This modern home was updated and renovated by a local PhD. The home sits on a knoll west of Nashville with amazing views. Isaac immediately identifed that the carport had the best view on the property and suggested converting it into a screened porch and creating another place to park cars. The existing deck was an eyesore as you approached from the front and is being reworked into more of an architectural element, rather than a typical post and beam solution. It will have an underdrain system so that rainwater, etc. doesn't fall into the space below, which will house a spa and provide dry shade for entertaining. A new pool with a tiled feature wall housing a sheer descent waterfall and a swim jet system is being added. The arrival court is being re-worked as well. All foundation plantings were overgrown and removed and a more modern planting aesthetic is being implemented with grasses and specimen trees, and oversized bluestone pavers. The project is an intense collaboration with architect Steve Durden.
