The design for this property resolved security concerns with a formalized aesthetic. A hand-molded brick masonry vocabulary was established. Using various profiles and employing dentillation, this vocabulary carries through from the main entry piers and flanking walls to the dining allée and the friends’ entry: a simple, elegant portal to the backyard. This entry belies the rich details of a formal garden folly. A simple groundcover planting accented with boxwoods transitions the rear yard to this intimate garden pavilion. Isaac was involved for the entirety of this project: site planning, details, layout, grading and drainage.
